Manuela Schär, Paralympic gold medalist and multiple wheelchair world champion, will be the first rider to start in a handbike at the Gravel Ride & Race Bern.
In order to complete the route with the handbike, Manuela will deviate from the original route at three points and join the route again later.
For us as organizers of the largest Swiss gravel event, this is an incentive to take a closer look at the topic of inclusion and to make some adjustments in terms of infrastructure.
We are extremely pleased that Manuela will be riding with us and can take a pioneering role for other paraplegics.
