Gravel for everyone – from the next generation to the elite

9 October 2026
On Saturday, 17 October 2026, Gravel Festival Bern will once again become the meeting point for Switzerland’s gravel community. Up to 1,500 participants, around 35 exhibitors representing more than 40 brands, a wide-ranging family programme and the first Swiss Gravel Championships will make the festival the largest gravel event in Switzerland.

Gravel Festival Bern aims to make gravel and cycling in general accessible to as many people as possible. Alongside the 60-kilometre «Race», the «Ride» offers a shorter, more relaxed option over 25 kilometres, with no time pressure. There are also activities for families and children. A particular highlight will be two shows by trampoline world champion and world record holder Robin Steiner. A skills course, face painting and kids’ races will provide further opportunities for fun and activity. Supporting the next generation has been one of the event’s key pillars since the very first edition.

Switzerland’s largest gravel expo

Around 35 exhibitors will showcase more than 40 brands across approximately 3,600 square metres. Bikes, clothing, accessories, test opportunities and a wide range of products and services related to gravel cycling will make the Expo a meeting point for the community. Street food for every taste will round off the offering.

For organiser Christian Rocha, the development of the event is a source of great satisfaction: «We feel very fortunate to be able to develop our event year after year. With the first Swiss Gravel Championships, we are making history this year by creating a new platform for professional gravel racing, while continuing to give due importance to mass participation and youth development.»

First Swiss Gravel Championships

The sporting highlight of 2026 will be the first Swiss Gravel Championships. Top athletes from gravel, mountain biking and road cycling are expected to compete for the coveted Swiss champion’s jerseys. Swiss championship titles will be awarded not only in the Elite categories, but also across various age groups.

The Race course leads from the vonRoll-Areal through Bremgartenwald, along the Gäbelbach to Mäderforst and via Lake Wohlen back to Bern. The women’s race starts at 11:25 am, followed by the men’s race at 11:45 am.
