A bike packing experience in a class of its own

12. June 2025

The second edition of Gravel Trans Jura (GTJ) delivered what it promised: a challenging, impressive adventure through the Jura mountains that will remain in your memory both physically and emotionally. Now GTJ Individual is launching – for everyone who wants to experience it at their own pace.

With the second edition of Gravel Trans Jura (GTJ), the bike packing adventure has finally established itself as an integral part of the Swiss endurance scene. The revised route once again led from Baden (AG) over the Jura heights to Nyon (VD). It was peppered with scenic highlights and challenging passages and was received positively by all participants. The adjustments made since the premiere led to a more harmonious overall experience and reinforced the original goal: combining athletic challenge with nature-oriented deceleration.

The GTJ demands not only physical endurance but also mental strength from all who take part. But those who master it are rewarded with incomparable moments – sunsets over the Jura mountains, quiet passages through dense forests, unexpected encounters, and the pride of having overcome themselves.

The finish line in Nyon was marked by a cheerful atmosphere, mutual respect, and shared joy about the experience. It was palpable: the GTJ is more than a sporting event—it is a communal experience that inspires and connects.

Enriching moments outweigh the effort
Stefan, a participant, reports as follows: « It was intense, exhausting, and incredibly enriching. We often had to leave our comfort zone. Despite fatigue, cold, rain, and burning thighs, we mastered every day. And we would do it again! What particularly touched us was the spirit among the participants: it felt like one big family. No one competed against each other; everyone supported each other. It was never about winning – it was always about finishing. »

GTJ Individual – adventure at your own pace
Starting today, the GTJ route is open to riders as part of the new “Gravel Trans Jura Individual” format. Equipped with the same documentation and guidance as the official event, bike packing enthusiasts can now tackle the adventure at any time and at their own pace. The essence of the GTJ remains the same: freedom, nature, and your own limits as your compass.
