The Gravel Ride & Race Bern, Switzerland’s biggest gravel event, has been taking place since 2018. The Bern Gravel Happening, which takes place this year on Saturday, October 19, stands for the passion of gravel, the joy of cycling offroad and the coming together of like-minded people. You can expect:
- Two gravel formats: Ride (25 km) and Race (50 km), for leisure riders through to professionals
- Varied route, 90 percent gravel, small trail sections, hardly any asphalt
- Perfectly signposted and secured route with refreshment stations and mechanic posts
- Urban start and finish area
- Wide range of activities for children and families incl. Kids Cross and Family Ride
- Bike expo with the opportunity to test ride gravel bikes
- Street food and drinks

New: staggered registration windows
This year there are different registration windows and price levels. For the first time, all existing participants will benefit from a loyalty discount for the next two weeks.
Because we have only received more than 50% of registrations in the last two weeks before the event, we are introducing different registration steps this year. This is so that we can also better manage the ordering of our prizes for participants and the medals and T-shirts for the children in the interests of sustainability.
Key findings from the 2023 survey
Following our sixth Gravel Ride & Race Bern on October 21, 2023, we conducted a survey among all participants in the Gravel Ride and Gravel Race.
