Much more than just a cyclo-cross race! While most sporting events are purely public events, the EKZ CrossTour Bern takes a completely different conceptual approach. Everyone is offered the opportunity to be there. Thus, in addition to the Sunday races of the EKZ CrossTour with international top athletes, the “Gravel Ride & Race” will take place for the second time on Saturday. In addition, a wide range of activities for children and families will ensure excitement and fun. Culinary delights with a small street food festival, a large bike expo and other activities will ensure that the Weyermannshaus open-air swimming pool will be the site of a bike festival for the whole family for two days.
The side event “Gravel Ride/Race” is primarily intended to appeal to amateur athletes. It is a format that can be started with a cyclo-cross bike as well as with a mountain bike. The majority of the course leads over gravel roads. Asphalt and short trail sections as well as stairs (uphill), where the bike has to be carried, will also be included in the course.
